Academic Counselling

Next Steps Programme

The Next Steps Programme at ISH explores the  various options our students have which lead to successful and realistic pathways after MYP5.

The main focus in MYP5 is exploring strengths and weaknesses, interests in fields of study and reviewing different educational programmes.

The Academic Counsellors have an in-depth conversation with every student individually to guide them in the best way possible.

DP1

In DP1 we explore the different options students have after they have graduated from the Diploma Programme.

This starts with a visit to the Go-Abroad Fair in Utrecht where international universities are represented.

Students also receive an overview of all dates for University Open Days, and information on how and when they need to start their application process in different countries.

DP2

In the final year of the IBDP, the focus for most of the students will be their application to a university of their choice.  Academic counsellors offer all the help they need in this sometime complex process.

We encourage our students to also seek autonomy in planning for life beyond ISH, but are available to guide them in the process. We always assist with reference letters, transcripts and predicted grades.
