The Middle Years Programme

International School Haarlem has been offering a rigorous, enriching secondary curriculum since September 2018.

ISH is an IB World School for MYP and DP and offers the IB Programme to students in Haarlem and surrounding municipalities. The programme offered at ISH provides a recognised, international curriculum for secondary students.

What is the MYP?

The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning.

The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

It encourages students aged 11 to 16 to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life.

Subjects in the MYP

In the MYP we offer a variety of subjects, some of which can be chosen by our students, depending on their interests or level:

MYP 1 & 2: Maths, Science, PHE, I&S, English, VA, Design, Science, Dutch, Music and Drama (each a half year), Spanish or French

MYP 3: Maths, Science, PHE, I&S, English, VA, Design, Science, Dutch, Music and Drama (each a half year), Spanish or French

MYP 4: Maths Standard or Extended, Science, PHE, I&S, English, Design, Science, Dutch, VA, Music or Drama, Spanish or French

MYP 5: Maths Standard or Extended, Science, PHE, I&S, English, Science, Dutch, ATL, Design, VA, Music or Drama, Spanish or French
